simmsjs Joined: 01/08/2004 Location: ND	I have 2 female dogs, a black lab and a saint bernard and both are about 13-14 months old and one of them is in heat...Question I have ism which one; the rider or the ridden. There are no other signs. I am guessing the lab as she is the more aggresive one. Anyone?

beedoggs1 Joined: 12/11/2008 Location: ND	look for a few signs. The one with the swollen vulva, the one dripping blood when she runs/trots, the one that spends an insane amount of time licking back there. Doesn't matter which one plays big spoon in doggy leap frog. After the first round of bleeding, they will be fertile for 7-10 days, then if not bred, they will bleed again for another week or so.

simmsjs Joined: 01/08/2004 Location: ND	Thanks for the info. I don't see any of those signs either. Maybe they are just horney for eachother? I will be looking for a purebred registered St. Bernard when she does come into heat.

beedoggs1 Joined: 12/11/2008 Location: ND	sounds like they are teenagers then. You'll notice a personality change when they come into heat, from the sounds of it, it's just right around the corner. When one goes into heat, the other will be shortly after. Good luck keeping the neighbor dogs away.
